The Town of Thurmont is seeking qualified applicants for the full-time position of Accountant. This position is in the Finance Department and performs a variety of technical duties. The candidate will have substantial knowledge in monthly reconciling processes and financial analysis. They will perform reconciliations related to financial statement accounts. They must be organized and approach each task with an analytical mindset

Experience with governmental accounting is highly preferred. Associate Degree in accounting, business or related field is desired. This position also provides support to other areas of the Finance Department. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, able to work independently and to multitask.
