Project Manager, Marketing and Contest Promotions

Ogden Newspapers Location: Virtual The project manager supports revenue growth in all properties via planning and execution of digital contesting—to include approximately 100 readers’ choice awards and other interactive contests each year. Primary responsibilities will include configuring contest websites, project scheduling and tracking, communicating with internal and external stakeholders, basic data management using Excel, and working with contractors on data verification. Will also execute marketing plans for each contest. Reports to the Creative Content director.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • With director, manages projects to ensure all are on schedule. • Configures contest websites using vendor solution/s, focusing on accuracy and quality control. • Participates in intake calls with clients and in project scoping and planning. • Communicates promptly and effectively with all project stakeholders, ensuring deliverables are received and providing solutions when deadlines are missed and/or rescheduling is necessary. • Trains contractors on data verification and outside stakeholders on frontend workflows. • Executes marketing plans for digital contests and other department projects. • Working with templates, updates sales collateral and digital creatives for contest promotions using Adobe Creative Suite. • Supports implementation of new workflow solutions as needed. • Responds to reader/user/advertiser inquiries about digital contests. • Monitors digital contests for voter fraud. • Attends company meetings, trainings and seminars as needed. • The responsibilities and duties described above cover only the most important aspects of the position and do not exclude other related duties as needed or as assigned.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST: • Be comfortable with digital platforms, and able to adapt to new ones as necessary. • Have strong Office 365 skills, particularly Word and Excel. • Have some experience using Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop and InDesign. • Demonstrate experience prioritizing and managing multiple projects for multiple stakeholders. • Possess strong written and verbal skills. • Provide an excellent customer service experience to both internal and external stakeholders. • Independently troubleshoot problems.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL: • Have experience designing digital and print advertisements using Adobe Creative Suite software. • Have experience in the newspaper industry.
