Reporting to the Director of Total Compensation and Staffing, provide functional support in the recruitment and selection of administrative and professional faculty (A/P Faculty). In compliance with applicable federal and state laws, provide guidance and support in all stages of the recruitment life cycle (i.e. preparing, sourcing, screening, selecting, hiring and onboarding). Advise hiring managers and search committee members on policies and procedures related to the recruitment and selection of these employment types. Serve as the point of contact for candidates regarding inquires related to the search process. Process faculty personnel transactions into the appropriate systems such as Banner and PMIS. Partner with the Office of Institutional Equity and Diversity in facilitating the employment of individuals on restricted appointments.
Required Qualifications:
Working knowledge of employment and EEO practices and principles, including federal and state laws and regulations. Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply human resources principles, practices and procedures. Demonstrated ability to brainstorm and propose new ideas and solutions. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to meet critical deadlines. Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment as well as independently. Demonstrated ability to analyze issues and reach logical and supportable conclusions. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and interact with employees at levels throughout the organization. Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Considerable experience with full-cycle recruiting in a human resources office. Several years of experience with using human resource information systems and on-line applicant tracking systems. Some experience developing and executing recruitment strategies/plans.
Preferred Qualifications:
Considerable human resources experience with a state agency in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Previous experience recruiting and employing faculty and/or staff in an institution of higher education. Bachelor’s degree in human resource management or related field. Experience using Banner, PMIS and/or PeopleAdmin software. PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or recruitment related certification.

Conditions of Employment:
