Police Lieutenant Mount Airy Police Department

The Town of Mount Airy, Maryland, located in Carroll and Frederick Counties with a population of 9,867, is seeking a highly qualified and motivated law enforcement professional to serve as Police Lieutenant for the Mount Airy Police Department. The Lieutenant will oversee Patrol Operations and the Administrative Services Unit, playing a vital role in upholding the Department’s Core Values and Mission Statement. Serving as the Deputy Chief, the position of Police Lieutenant will lead and direct departmental efforts in community outreach and engagement, public safety initiatives, training and career development, and recruitment and retention of sworn personnel.

Required Education and/or Experience: • Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required. • Minimum of five years of police supervisory or management experience required. • Maryland Police Certification; Supervisor School and Administrator Certification by MPCTC or comparable certification. • Ten or more years of progressive law enforcement experience. • Valid driver’s license.
