CNC Production Machinist
What You’ll Be Doing:
Performs advanced level machine operation and adjustment for Mount Systems parts manufacturing. Has intermediate to advanced level setup skills for departmental equipment.
- Operates and performs intermediate to advanced set ups on CNC turning centers, mills, and secondary departmental equipment.
- Applies GDT and blue print reading skills to identify tolerances and specifications
- Uses measuring instruments, QC gages, optical comparator and visual inspection to ensure conformance to print.
- Assists in training coworkers on how to operate, adjust, and set up machines.
- Adjusts tooling and holding fixtures on machines.
- Visually inspects parts and replaces worn tooling, pre-sets tooling a required.
- Performs required TPM and cleaning procedures.
- Follows shop traveler and/or kanban card sequence
- Performs 1ST article inspections to verify conformance to specifications.
- Accurately and reliably maintains all paper work, or data input requirements of the department.
- Retrieves raw materials from the staging areas as necessary.
- Adheres to all Company policies and procedures, including all safety requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience You’ll Need:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Five years experience machining parts to close tolerances required.
- An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be considered.
- Able to read, understand and follow work instructions consistently.
- Effective verbal communications skills.
- Intermediate to advance Blueprint Reading required.
- Win SPC, GDT knowledge required.
- CNC Operation class or commensurate on the job training required.
- Able to read and follow CNC programs.
- Proficiency in with Windows Office and use of personal computer required.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand or sit; manipulate objects, tools, and controls; walk, reach with hands and arms; bend, stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl. May be required to lift up to 40 lbs. and lift more than 40 lbs. with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, the ability to focus, and the ability to distinguish colors. Frequent need to see details at a very close range (within 18 inches of the observer) to inspect for part conformity and/or part defects. The employee will work near and/or with moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, fumes, and airborne particles. Frequent exposure to moderate noise.
