AUTOMOTIVE TECHNICIAN
J.H. Barkau & Sons in Cedarville is seeking an experienced Automotive Technician.

We operate one of the finest and most efficient repair shops in the area, and we require excellence of our devoted staff. Each Automotive Technician must have the experience necessary to provide our valued customers with optimum service. We offer competitive salaries and generous benefits.
Hours: Mon. - Fri. 7:00 am to 4:30 pm and some Saturdays 8:00 am to noon.
Job Responsibilities and Duties
- Perform routine automotive maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, wheel balancing, transmission flushes, replacing filters, engine tune-ups, air conditioner re-charges, front end alignments, brakes, steering, electrical systems, battery installations, fluid level checks and headlight/taillight installations
- Maintains vehicle functional condition by listening to customer complaints; conducting extensive diagnostic procedures to determine the source of the problem and provide accurate repair recommendations; repairing engine failures; repairing mechanical and electrical system malfunctions; replacement of parts and worn components.
- Verifies vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems
- Maintains vehicle records by legibly and accurately recording service and repairs for both the customer and our records
- Clean and maintain the work environment to insure equipment longevity and workplace safety. Follow auto equipment and tools operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventative maintenance; calling for repairs.
- Contains costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options
- Maintain a working knowledge of current industry best practices in automotive repair
Qualifications and Skills
- Valid Driver's License
- Automotive experience
- Must possess & use one's own tools.
- Able to work in fast-paced environment.

- Knowledge of diagnostic tools and equipment a must
- Ability to operate all auto repair tools and safety management
