Spanish Instructor (SPANI001813)
Hood College invites applications for adjunct instructors of Spanish. The Spanish Instructors will teach in person at Hood College beginning January 23, 2022.
Responsibilities include teaching a maximum of two courses of beginning language classes per semester three days a week (MWF)- some flexibility may be considered.
We seek a candidate with a strong commitment in a liberal arts setting, who is passionate about high-impact learning experiences, and who values diversity, equity, demonstrated commitment student success and inclusion in all that they do. Candidates must have strong organizational skills and proven ability to work collaboratively across academic disciplines.
- Use of ACTFL guidelines in course curricula.
- Demonstrated experience with one or more:
- Using publishers’ digital learning platforms,
- Teaching Spanish for the professions,
- Active involvement in professional development, preferred.
Education and/or Experience
- Candidates must have at least a M.A. in Spanish or its equivalent. Native or near-native fluency of Spanish is required (according to the ACTFL guidelines).
- Two-year experience teaching Spanish at higher education.
