Hood College invites applications for a Geographic Information Systems Instructor (Adjunct Position) to teach an introductory course in geographic information systems (GIS) for the spring semester which begins January 27, 2022.
Under the general direction of the Biology Department Chair, the adjunct instructor will teach ENSP 103, a 4-credit course that introduces students to the role of GIS in spatial data analysis and planning. This course is open to students of all disciplines and focuses on the use of GIS software for creating, analyzing, visualizing, and illustrating spatial data in the context of a semester-long collaborative project.
Qualifications: We seek a candidate with a strong commitment in a liberal arts setting, who is passionate about high-impact learning experiences, and who values diversity, equity and inclusion in all that they do. Candidates must have strong organizational skills and proven ability to work collaboratively across academic disciplines.
Education and/or Experience: Candidates must possess a master’s degree in an appropriate science-related discipline and teaching experience is required.
