Position Summary:

This position will be a hands-on leader of team members in a fast-paced warehouse environment.  This role will execute departmental goals in receiving, order-fulfillment, and shipping with a strong focus on quality and inventory. This position requires direct involvement with daily operations and future projects to support company growth objectives.  Frequent involvement with hiring, training, performance management, and development of team members is a strong focus.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Commit to FIELD’s Mission Statement, Core Values, and Fieldamentals.
  • Supervise team members’ daily activities in shipping and receiving.
  • Participate in the continual development and improvement of warehouse standard operating procedures.
  • Partner closely with the site leader and other site team leaders to effectively lead operations in a cohesive manner.
  • General hands-on duties involving physical handling of product, materials, and supplies in receiving, shipping, quality, inventory, and VMI.
  • Use computer programs to input and retrieve data.
  • Operate and maintain warehouse equipment including forklifts and carts.
  • Manage daily attendance, time off, and work assignments for team members.
  • Troubleshoot shipping, receiving, and/or technical issues.
  • Meet daily shipment responsibilities including VMI, Discreet, UPS, FedEx, DHL, and LTL.
  • Take active role in supporting and maintaining safety and ISO programs.
  • Ensure work areas are clean and organized.
  • Ensure team members obtain training and are in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for selection and training of new team members required to meet constant staffing needs.
  • Conduct daily communication meetings to team, providing information and updates to team members.
  • Provide a positive influence on and assist in the development of team members.
  • Conduct regular team member performance reviews.
  • Provide support and back-up for other positions as needed.
  • Periodic bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting, lifting of 50+ pounds and climbing.

 

 Education, Skills and Experience Required:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Polite and professional manner.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a distribution center environment.
  • Minimum 3 years of leadership experience, with proven results.
  • Must have previous Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) experience
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, team-based environment
  • Ability to address conflict and concerns with team members.
  • Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook knowledge.
  • Strong written/communication skills to interact with internal and external customers.
  • Strong time management skills, delegation skills, and detail orientation.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Highly motivated, well organized.
  • Effective coaching and teaching skills.
  • Ability to drive results without a great deal of direct supervision.
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary.

 

Additional Skills Preferred:

  • College degree or some college courses.
  • P21 experience preferred.
  • Experience in blueprint reading a plus.
