Mental Health Associates function as a member of the Inpatient treatment team providing short-term therapeutic treatment in a 57 bed acute-care hospital that serves all ages. Brook Lane Health Services is a leading provider of mental health treatment and education in the region.

Available shifts (subject to change): all shifts include every other weekend and some holidays unless noted otherwise
Full-time 8-hour Day shift 7AM-3:30PM
Full-time 8-hour Evening shift 3PM-11:30PM
Full-time or Part-time 12-hour shifts every weekend 7AM-7PM (every Sat/Sun plus another shift to make full-time)
Part-time 8-hour Day shift 7AM-3:30PM
Part-time 8-hour Evening shift 3PM-11:30PM
Part-time 8-hour Overnight shift 11PM-7:30PM
Mental Health Associates must complete a required 2-month training program consisting of on-the-job training, and a class setting on Wednesdays from 11AM-7:30PM. Please do not apply if you are unable to consistently attend this training.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with direct patient care such as checking vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, etc)
Facilitate patient involvement with the prescribed therapeutic activities
Monitor unit safety
Running groups and activities
Assist with activities of daily living when needed (bathing, toileting, feeding)
Respond to crises that may arise while utilizing appropriate verbal deescalation and/or physical restraint techniques
Qualifications:
High school degree required with minimum 1 year of experience in mental health or residential (Bachelor's Degree in Psychology or Human Services field preferred - no minimum experienced required with bachelor's degree)
CNA, EMT, or other medical experience will be considered
Must be able to perform physical duties such as assisting with lifting, performing behavior management duties, and therapeutic restraints following training course
Must pass training course on proper use of restraints
