Behavior Specialist — Provide instructional and behavior support in a non-public school classroom setting
Supervises students during academic periods and non-academic periods (dining, off-grounds, etc.)
Assists teacher to maintain classroom order
Help students with activities of daily living as needed (physical care, eating, etc.)
Performs crisis intervention with students exhibiting behavior problems
Provides one on one time with students as needed
Transport students as needed
High school degree required.
Previous experience with school-aged children and autism population preferred.
Physical ability to perform behavior management duties and therapeutic restraints following training course.
Ability to deal with student aggression and intense behaviors.
Ability to assist students with activities of daily living.
